The Best Protein French Toast Ever

While the French Toast Factory in Tokyo held a special place in my heart, this homemade recipe has become my undisputed favorite! ❤️ Okay, so the sauce might not be the most photogenic... the Speculoos protein powder does turn it quite colorful! But trust me, the taste is divine. Plus, I used zero-calorie pancake syrup, which sacrifices a bit of aesthetics for some serious calorie consciousness.

Ready in 10 Minutes!

Ingredients:

  • French Toast:
    • 2 thick slices of Bread (any kind you like!)
    • 2 Eggs
    • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Speculoos Sauce:
    • 100g Yogurt (plain or vanilla)
    • 40g @myprotein Speculoos Whey Protein
    • Sweetener to taste
    • Pinch of salt
  • Toppings:
    • 1 Banana, chopped
    • Ground Cinnamon
    • @rxsugar 0kcal Pancake Syrup

Instructions:

  1. Egg Bath: Whisk together the eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a shallow dish. Let your bread slices soak it up like thirsty little sponges!
  2. Golden Goodness: Heat a pan over medium heat and fry your bread for 2 minutes per side, aiming for a beautiful golden brown color.
  3. Speculoos Magic: In a separate bowl, combine the yogurt, protein powder, sweetener, and salt until smooth and creamy. This is your "healthy-but-delicious" sauce!
  4. Assembly Time: Plate your perfectly cooked French toast, then drizzle generously with the Speculoos sauce. Top with chopped banana slices for a fruity touch.
  5. Finishing Touches: Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with your zero-calorie pancake syrup for that final touch of sweetness.
  6. Savor the Moment: Take a moment to appreciate your culinary creation (and maybe snap a less-colorful-but-still-tempting photo for your friends!).

Tips & Tricks:

  • Experiment with different protein powder flavors for a variety of sauce options.
  • Add a few drops of almond extract to the sauce for an extra flavor boost.
  • Use any fruits you like instead of banana for a personalized topping.
  • Leftovers? Store your French toast in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat it in a pan or toaster for a quick and satisfying breakfast.

This Tokyo-inspired French toast recipe is proof that healthy and delicious can go hand-in-hand. Share your creations with #SpeculoosFrenchToast and inspire others to experience this flavorful twist on a classic!
